Colin Carr, CEO of CARR, grew up in a resort town in Northern Michigan named Charlevoix. He began his real estate career at the age of 19 by managing multi-family apartment complexes in the greater Lansing Michigan area.
Colin moved to Denver Colorado in his early twenties and continued in property management, where he managed several mid and high-rise apartment complexes near downtown Denver.
He received his broker’s license at 23 and began representing local, regional and national companies with their commercial real estate needs. Initially, Colin represented both landlords, sellers, tenants, buyers and investors across a broad spectrum of commercial real estate specialties, including: office, industrial, retail, land and investment real estate.
After almost a decade of real estate experience that spanned numerous areas of exposure, and with several hundred completed real estate transactions on his resume, Colin was drawn to the Healthcare field and began focusing exclusively on healthcare related transactions. In a short period of time, Colin realized he was having more impact and influence representing healthcare providers while enjoying the results of ‘helping people who help people’ beyond any area of real estate he had ever been involved in.
Shortly after this realization, Colin founded CARR Healthcare Realty with the exclusive double niche of only representing healthcare tenants and buyers. CARR Healthcare Realty’s mission of: Only Healthcare. Only Tenants and Buyers. alongside a no-conflicts of interest approach of not representing landlords and sellers was an idea that was met with open arms from hundreds of healthcare providers.
Within a short period of time, CARR Healthcare Realty was representing dentists, physicians, veterinarians, optometrists and other healthcare providers all throughout Colorado with their commercial real estate needs. After five years of operating exclusively in Colorado, and with requests coming in on a regular basis from healthcare providers to take CARR Healthcare Realty’s services outside of Colorado into other states, a national expansion plan was launched, and the company began opening offices in states throughout the country.
Several years into CARR Healthcare Realty’s national expansion, dozens of traditional corporations and businesses began asking CARR to represent them as tenants and buyers in their commercial real estate negotiations. Since CARR was able to offer the exact same services to commercial companies as they had been for almost a decade to healthcare providers, CARR launched a new Commercial division that complimented its Healthcare platform and rebranded from CARR Healthcare Realty to CARR.
During this time, CARR had also been working diligently in the Senior Housing market and simultaneously opened an official Senior Housing Division.
