Scott Hughes

Scott Hughes serves as General Counsel for CARR providing direction and advice in matters involving real estate and agency law, transactions, compliance, and other projects for the company. 

Before joining CARR, Scott was a Senior Counsel with a national law firm where he advised clients on matters involving real estate, litigation, commercial transactions, regulated industries, and other areas of law. He previously served as General Counsel for the Michigan State Senate and began his legal career at a firm in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Scott received his bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University and his law degree from Western Michigan University Cooley Law School, where he graduated summa cum laude. 

Scott lives in West Michigan with his wife and their three children. They enjoy spending time outdoors, traveling, and visiting national parks.
